Aistear has commenced in the Infant Classroom and we are having lots of fun learning through play in class. We have 5 stations/areas; Role Play, Junk Art, Construction, Small World and Funky Fingers. Each playgroup gets to visit each area once a week.
Our Aistear theme at the moment is Autumn and each play area reflects this theme. Have a look at some of the photos to see your child play and learn!
In the Role Play Area we become members of the Tidy Towns Committee and are very busy using rubbish pickers and gloves to tidy the area. As it is Autumn there are lots of leaves, conkers, twigs and acorns that need picking up!
In the Junk Art Area we have the freedom to create our very own Autumn Art! There are lots of autumn themed pictures such as pictures of leaves, trees, squirrels etc. for us to choose from when being creative! We can draw, colour, cut and stick things together to make what we want, it is so much fun!
In the Construction Area we are busy building sheds for all the farm animals. We know that farmers start to bring their animals indoors in autumn because the weather gets colder and winter is on the way! Have a look at our budding architects at work!
In the Small World Area we are very busy on the farm. We are playing with farm animals, tractors and even dumpers!
In the Funky Fingers Area we are using playdough. We are busy making hats for the scarecrow, nuts for the squirrel, spikes for the hedgehog, pines for the pine cones and even some pumpkins.
We are having lots of fun playing with the other boys and girls! It is our favourite time of the day!
