- The proper name for batteries is cells
This week, as a precursor to Science Week, we had great fun learning about electricity with our favourite Science guy Scott Ziglinski. Working in groups of four we created circuits that got a motor running. Using cells (the correct name for dry batteries) and wire, we closed the circuit so that the electricity could flow and get a motor spinning. We later added a switch so that the motor could be turned on and off without disconnecting the entire circuit. Scott asks just the right questions of us, so that we discover how to make things work for ourselves! This makes us real scientists! We are already looking forward to Scott’s return next year. Roll on Science Week, 10th-14th November 2014.
