Pencil Sketching

This week saw the return of Tommy the art man – back by popular demand.  Students in 3^rd and 4^th were shown the technique of pencil sketching.  This pencil technique is the most basic of all, and can be referred to as a ‘light outline’ or a ‘heavy outline’.

Tommy showed the students how to use a light outline to draw the boat/background scenery and this was drawn free-hand.   Students used a heavy outline in the final stages of their drawing.  This heavy outline was created holding the pencil closer to the nib to have better control and increasing the pressure to the students desired shade. The end result is truly fantastic.  Well done to all.
