Thursday the 8th of October was National Tree Day and the pupils of St Fergus’ NS went all out in learning about our favourite oxygen givers. The Junior pupils studied the trees on school grounds and took leaf and bark rubbings to remember the day. We also hugged a tree-a very important part of the day.
The Senior pupils visited Curraghchase Woods and learned about the forest and trees there from some local members of Coillte. They learned how to find out the age of a tree and journeyed through the woodland looking at different types of trees. Some lucky lads even got a go of a chain saw!!
