This week we have been having lots of fun with maths to celebrate Maths week. We learnt the rhyme ‘Five Little Ghosties’ and we even made some ghosts to help us perform the actions. The best part was when some of us dressed up as doctors and the rest of the class pretended to be ghosties jumping on the bed. We started off with five ghosties but in the end there were zero ghosties jumping on the bed!

As the Junior Infants are working on matching and sorting, we decided to play a game of SNAP for Maths week. We used special picture playing cards and worked together in small groups. It was lots of fun. This helped us to practise matching as we had to have a matching card to shout ‘SNAP’!
- We love to play SNAP!
- Sheagh, Isabelle and Eoghan really enjoyed their game!
- The secret to playing SNAP is good concentration. Cara, Aoife and Tomás watch carefully!
- Luke and Przemysclaw are learning to take turns.
In Senior Infants, we are working on the story of 6. For Maths Week, we decided to make the story of 6 using playing cards. It was super fun to figure out each number sentence.
- Jason loves this game
- Seán gets busy with his number story!
- Figuring out our sums!
- Having a game of SNAP after all those hard sums!
- SNAP!
- Muireann makes a number sentence!
And to top off a great Maths Week, we played some wonderful games on our interactive whiteboard. The five frame game was brilliant!
