Earth Day
April 22 was Earth Day. In 3rd and 4th class we showed our support for protecting the environment by participating in a class discussion and coming up with ways in which we can help. After all, today’s students are tomorrow’s leaders. We learned some fascinating Earth Day facts such as the first Earth Day was celebrated on April 22, 1970 and we looked at a powerpoint which helped raise awareness of the impact we have on the environment and what can be done about it.
We made promises to the Earth to care for nature and keep the environment clean. We also thanked the Earth for all the special things it provides for us.
We also carried out a class scavenger hunt. As you can see from the photos – under each cone had a question relating to Earth Day. We worked in pairs to complete the challenge. Well done to Anna Daly and Conor Woulfe who were first co complete the challenge with all questions answered correctly.
