A phone call from Ennis this afternoon brought the news that we had waited for all day-the girls of St Fergus’ N.S. were after beating the team from Tipperary and were crowned Munster Champions in the Spar 5-A-Side Soccer Competition. The excitement was palpable!!

These terrific girls will now go on to represent Munster in the All Ireland Finals of the competition in the hallowed ground of the game-The Aviva Stadium, in Dublin, in May.

We at the school are immensely proud of this wonderful bunch of players. Not only do they represent all that is good and proper on the playing field, they are a pleasure to send away to represent the school. They are pleasant, honest and exhibit great team work whether it is on or off the pitch. They are as always, gracious in victory.

Tomorrow will see a super welcome home for our travelling heroes. We can’t wait to see them, settle the cup into its new home!

Thank you to all of the parents who went to the games in Ennis today. We are sure that you are delighted to have made the journey. A huge word of THANKS to trainer and manager Ms Deirdre Dillane. We are sure that her cool and calm ways on the side line was the ultimate driving force today.
